SCR announces changes in train numbers, timings

The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced major changes in train numbers and timings with effect from July 1. It also announced upgradation of ten pairs of express trains to superfast express category. Accordingly, numbers of these trains would be changed.

The 7046 Hyderabad-Howrah East Coast Express would now be referred to as 8646 and would depart Hyderabad at 10 a.m., Vijayawada at 4.30 p.m., Visakhapatnam at 11.35 p.m. and would arrive at Howrah at 4.15 p.m. the following day.

The Hyderabad-Chennai Charminar Express would leave Hyderabad at 6 p.m. and Vijayawada at 0.30 a.m. and arrive at Chennai at 8.15 a.m. the following day.

The Secunderabad-Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express would depart at 7.25 a.m. and arrive at the destination at 5.15 a.m. the next day. The 2704 Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express would Secunderabad depart at 4 p.m., Vijayawada at 9.25 p.m., Visakhapatnam at 3.30 a.m. and arrive at Howrah at 5.55 p.m. the following day.

Superfast trains

The new numbers of upgraded express trains are with old numbers in the brackets: Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad Godavari Express (7007) — 2727; Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Godavari Express (7008) - 2728; Mumbai CST-Hyderabad Hussain Sagar Express (7001) - 2701; Hyderabad-Mumbai CST Hussain Sagar Express (7002) 2702; Kacheguda-Bangalore Express (7685) - 2785; Bangalore-Kacheguda Express (7686) — 2786; Hyderabad-Chennai Express (7054) — 2754; Chennai-Hyderabad Express (7053) - 2753; Hyderabad-Nizamuddin Dakshin Express (7021) - 2721; and H-Nizamuddin-Hyderabad Dakshin Express (7022) — 2722.

New destinations

The SCR also changed origin/destination points of some trains. The 7052/7051 Secunderabad-Chennai Egmore-Secunderabad Express would originate/terminate at Kacheguda instead of Secunderabad from July 1. Consequently, the train numbers would be revised as 7652/7651 Kacheguda-Chennai Egmore-Kacheguda Express.

Similarly, the 7048/7047 Secunderabad-Kakinada Port-Secunderabad Gautami Express would originate/terminate at Kakinada Town instead of Kakinada Port.
