Advertising O&M wins award in CSR category at Cannes fete Our Bureau
Mumbai , June 23 Ogilvy & Mather has won the Yahoo Big Idea Chair Award in the Corporate Social Responsibility category at the 53rd Cannes Advertising Festival 2006. It had also won the Yahoo Big Idea Chair India at the Abbys last year. The agency won the award for its work on anti-smoking for the Cancer Patients Association. The Yahoo Big Idea Chair Award is an online contest, where the voting is done online and not by the Cannes jury. Speaking to Business Line, Ms Renuka Jaypal, President, OgilvyOne India, said, "We have won awards for this campaign at a number of international and national forums, but this time around, it is for a category such as corporate consciousness, and we are delighted that it is a people's choice award. We feel great that the campaign has been recognised not only by the industry but also by the people at large." As far as the other categories at Cannes are concerned, India has six shortlists in the film category. While Leo Burnett has three shortlists, two for its Heinz campaign and one for Prerna, Ogilvy & Mather has been shortlisted for its `Barber' TVC for the Mentos brand. On the other hand, JWT is once again hoping to bag an award for its Levis Slim Jeans campaign. The agency has won a Gold Lion for its work on this campaign in the print category. Publicis India has also been shortlisted for its film on Cancer Patients Association.
