Cashew export body calls for uniform food safety policy

The International Nut Council (INC) is likely to discuss the proposal of the Cashew Export Promotion Council of India (CEPCI) to formulate a uniform policy for food safety and standards acceptable to all the nations.

This point came for discussion at a seminar organised as part of "Exponut 2006" at Istanbul in Turkey on Friday .

In an e-mail message from Istanbul, Mr Walter D'Souza, Chairman, CEPCI, said the INC Executive Director, Ms Goretti Gausch, spoke about the need to raise the bar by all the supplier nations in terms of food safety measures.
