Letters Taxing zones
Reflecting the concerns over the pitfalls in the SEZ concept and allowing a large number of them, the editorial `Taxing zones' (Business Line, June 22) rightly advises a rethink in the matter. The tax-break policy has indeed become a lazy man's guide to economic growth. This is a good opportunity for the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, and the Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, to give a new direction for various policies. . A. Jacob Sahayam Thiruvananthapuram
