TCS chief meets Karunanidhi

Chennai , June 3

The Tata Consultancy Services CEO and Managing Director, Mr S. Ramadorai, on Monday met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr M. Karunanidhi, at the Secretariat.

Mr Dayanidhi Maran, Union IT and Communications Minister, and Dr C. Chandramouli, Tamil Nadu IT Secretary, were present during the meeting, said a TCS official.

The TCS Chief apprised the Chief Minister about the company's investment and growth plans in the State.

The Chief Minster wanted TCS to consider expanding to other cities, including Tirunelveli and Tiruchi.

Mr N. Chandrasekharan, Executive Vice President, TCS, and Mr Ravi Shah, Vice-President, TCS, accompanied Mr Ramadorai, the official said.

TCS employs about 15,000 people in Chennai, and plans to add another 8,000 this financial year.

The first module of the Rs 200-crore development centre at Siruseri, a suburb on the IT corridor, will be ready by April 2007, a company official said.
