Software ThoughtWorks mulls another India centre V.Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad , July 3 ThoughtWorks, an IT consulting and technology solutions provider, is evaluating the possibility of setting up another centre in India. The India centre has become a base for its range of transformational services that help enterprises enhance the value of their technology assets. The Managing Director of India operations, Mr Matthew Simons, told Business Line the company's Indian delivery centre based in Bangalore had emerged as a strategic centre for global operations. Unlike traditional software services providers, ThoughtWorks has evolved a different model of offering consultancy and a solutions-driven approach based on open standards. "In India, we have embarked on a mission of interacting with techies. This is something that has received overwhelming response. Typically, techies understand this approach and are keen to take to our innovative methodology of developing solutions on open source platforms," he said. Based in Chicago, ThoughtWorks with about $100 million in revenues, has centres in the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, China and India. Last year, the company added China centre. However, Mr Simons said there is one constraint to expansion. It is the ability to find the right talent that fits into ThoughtWorks scheme of things.
