Grants to graduates

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, has announced a grant of Rs 500 per month to unemployed graduates and post-graduates in the State registered with the employment exchanges. This is discriminatory as this grant is being denied to non-graduates registered with the exchanges. Mr Mulayam Singh has promised to raise this amount to Rs 1000, if his party is elected in the next election. This amounts to cash inducement for votes. Hopefully, the Chief Election Commissioner has noted this, and will take suitable action.
