Bangalore July 6

TidalData, a storage start-up funded by Mr Kumar Malavalli, co-founder and former CTO of Brocade Communications, plans to raise about $4-6 million to fund its growth initiatives. "The company was in talks with a couple of venture capitalists and expects to raise the funds soon," said Mr Adarsh Holavanahalli, CEO, TidalData. The company has come out with customised storage solutions for the small and medium business (SMB) market, which it expects to launch soon.

TidalData's UniVault products will allow customers to avoid frequent back-ups, protect consolidated information, build information access infrastructure, enhance their digital data management and finally to have affordable data security at their fingertips, Mr Holavanahalli said. The first product UniValut - XL 1000 will be launched soon at less than $1,000, he said.
