Mulls another development centre, eyes acquisitions

Developments
To invest about $40 million-50 million over the next two-three years.
To focus on product development services such as on demand services, telecom-embedded software and mobile applications.

Hyderabad , July 7

Induslogic, a US-based outsourced product development services provider, has recently established three new centres of excellence in India.

The company continues its quest for more acquisitions, while zeroing on setting up another development centre in India apart from Noida and Nagpur.

The Chief Operating Officer and Country Manager of Induslogic, Mr Mukul Jain, told Business Line that the company recently concluded the second round of funding of $12.5 million from Sequoia (Westbridge) Capital and had also acquired a Nagpur-based mobile applications company, Lambent Technologies.

Through Lambent Induslogic added about 225 people and now have about 1,000 developers across various development centres.

Investments

"Induslogic has firmed up plans to invest about $40 million-50 million over the next two-three years in India. This would be a combination of organic growth and some acquisitions. We are also close to finalising plans for another development centre in India and expect to announce this later this year," Mr Jain said.

Expansion plans

"Traditionally, our focus has been on finance vertical, telecom, mobile applications and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP)-based product lines. We continue to expand our India operations and have recently established three centres of excellence to address the emerging areas within the product development services. These include Web-based software products that meet the emerging requirement of on demand services, telecom-embedded software and mobile applications," he said.

In the last 12 months, Induslogic has rolled out about 200 different product releases for over 40 clients the company works with. Gradually, the approach to product development too is changing and Induslogic has taken to what is being referred to as Agile development methodology.

This approach is distinct from the traditional software development methodology and brings in a lot of flexibility in terms of software and product development work, he explained.
