GE Shipping orders two vessels

Mumbai , July 7

Great Eastern Shipping has ordered two new building long range-one (LR-1) product tankers as part of its programme to modernise its fleet. The orders were placed on STX Shipbuilding Co Lt, Korea.

The vessels, which would be of 74,500 dwt each, are due for delivery in the third quarter of 2008-09. With this order, the company's new building order book stands at nine tankers, including five MR product tankers, and five offshore supply vessels.
