Opinion - Letters
Businessmen and tax man

This is with reference to the column "For the Asking" (Business Line, July 3): I disagree with the expert's view. Being a small business entrepreneur, I am pained at being accused of "thumbing my nose at the tax man". Do I enjoy medical benefits, or rent allowances that a government official or salaried individual does? Is there a provident fund or super-annuation scheme for entrepreneurs?

Casting such slurs on businessmen who provide jobs is unfortunate.

Krishnan V. Chari
