Ahmedabad , July 10

Honda Siel Cars India Ltd on Monday launched its latest model, Honda Civic, in Gujarat. The Managing Director, Mr Sanjay Thakker, told a news conference here that the new model's collision-safe G-CON (G-Force Control Technology) body with a crush-proof survival zone, along with Dual SRS airbags and pre-tensioner seatbelts, minimise injury levels in the event of an accident. "The impact-absorbing external body structure further ensures pedestrian safety."

The Eighth Generation Honda Civic, with a Rs 10 lakh-plus price tag, will be "fully-loaded" with a range of safety features, including Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Broke-force Distribution System. It was launched globally seven months ago and in India last week.

Mr Thakker said it had been voted the "Car of the Year" in competitive markets such as the US and Canada and the "Most Advanced Technology Car" in Japan. It had also won the "Top Safety Pick-Gold" Award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, California.
