Mumbai, July 9

Eureka Forbes, a water purification company, is sprucing up its rural market growth strategy to accelerate overall business growth. The company, part of the Shapoorji Pallonji group, is engaged in activities related to water purification and floor care products and its one-year-old rural-specific brand Aquasure has become a Rs 35-crore entity. The water purification business accounted for 70 per cent of last year's turnover of Rs 722 crore.

"In the rural market, we are present with the basic tap solution as well as a superior version of the conventional filter system. Aquasure is expected to grow by 30 per cent this year," said Mr R. Vedanarayanan, Deputy General Manager, in a note. The company plans to organise health camps to provide maximum awareness about the benefits of consuming pure water. This initiative, covering residential societies, parks, malls, and supermarkets, began in the first week of June, reaching out to 3,000 people, the note said.
