Oppressive bureaucracy

Despite all the hollow promises made by the Government on revamping the administrative services, it has little to show in terms of reining in the interference by the bureaucracy. Dr C.N.R. Rao, after the meeting of Scientific Advisory Council meeting a few days ago, observed that the interference was `oppressive.'
