Edible oils firm up

All major edible oils firmed up on the local edible oils market on Tuesday on some fresh buying amid reduced supply. Castor seed August contracts ended higher on some buying support.

Groundnut oil raw was up Rs 3 at Rs 505 per 10 kg. Refined soya oil was up Rs 3 at Rs 400 per 10 kg. Imported crude soya oil was steady at Rs 398 per 10 kg.

RBD palmolein was up Rs 3 at Rs 410 per 10 kg. Castor oil commercial grade was up Rs 2 at Rs 336 per 10 kg. Sunflower oil expeller was up Rs 5 at Rs 402 per 10 kg.

Castor seed August contracts ended higher Rs 14 at Rs 1,578 per quintal over previous close.

Sugar weak

Sugar spot prices ruled weak at the Vashi wholesale market on Tuesday on some offerings amid stray buying interest.

Small grade (S-30) was down Rs 11 at Rs 1,835-1,880 per quintal over previous day, while medium grade (M-30) was down Rs 4 at Rs 1,885-1,951 per quintal over previous close.

Wheat up on tight supplies

New Delhi: Wheat continued its upward march in the wholesale grains market on Tuesday on restricted arrivals from producing belts and ended in positive zone.

Wheat dara (for mills) remained up and gained another Rs 5 at Rs 875-877 per quintal, while wheat MP (deshi) rose by Rs 2 at Rs 1,182-1,507 a quintal. Moong Maharashtra traded Rs 25 higher at Rs 2,575-2,625 per quintal on stockists buying.
