Coimbatore , July 12 The 9th International Industrial Trade Fair, (INTEC 2006), organised by the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia), which concluded here today, has generated business worth Rs 760 crore and the next edition of INTEC would be held in 2008. Speaking at the valedictory function of INTEC 2006, Mr.K.V.Ganapathi, Chairman, INTEC 2006, said that the fair attracted 402 participants from India and abroad. This was nearly 25 per cent more than the number of participants who took part in the previous edition of INTEC in 2005. Though the fair dates almost clashed with trade fairs elsewhere in the country, there was an overwhelming response, confirming the business potential of the fair being held here. He said according to the feedback received from the participants in the fair, the value of orders booked during the fair held from July 7 to 12 was around Rs 760 crore. He estimated that more than one lakh persons had visited the fair. Mr.K.Balachandran, President, Codissia, said in the future, the association would organise product-specific fairs.
