Nabard staff observe protest day

Our Bureau

Thiruvananthapuram, July 12

Officers and employees of the Kerala region of Nabard kept away from the Nabard foundation day celebrations to highlight various demands. While the delay in implementation of wage revision was one of the major reasons, the agrarian crisis leading to farmer suicides also had prompted the employee unions to contemplate this step, said Mr Jose T. Abraham and Mr K. P. Padmakumar, union leaders. The protesting employees assembled at the Nabard premises, to be addressed by Mr M.M. Lawrence, veteran trade union leader, and Mr P. Sadasivan Pillai, President, Bank Employees' Federation of India.
