ICICI team wins Tata Crucible regional round

The winners will now battle it out with seven other teams at the National Finals on July 23.

Hyderabad , July 12

The team of Ramamurthy and Arvind Raamaiah from ICICI has won the Regional Finals of Tata Crucible-The Business Quiz 2006 held at the RNR Auditorium, here on Tuesday.

In this `winner takes all' quiz, the duo in a hard-fought final toppled other teams and collected a cash prize of Rs 60,000 and gifts from Titan and gift vouchers from Westside and books from the Tata Group.

Dr M. Vidya Sagar, Executive Vice-President (Advanced Technology), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, gave away the prizes.

Finalists

The 6 finalists who contested the Regional Finals were Mr Vinod Rajamani and Mr Govind Raj from Deloitte, Mr Vardarajan and Mr Dharmendra from KPMG, Mr Santanu Dey and Mr K. Ravichand from Vizag Steel Plant, Mr Ramamurthy and Mr Aravind Raamaiah from ICICI, Mr Shubham Roy and Mr Nikhil Lasrado from Wipro and Ms Priyanbad P. and Diwakar P. from Satyam.

Quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam had the audience on the edge of their seats and kept the excitement going.

National finals

The winners will now battle it out with seven other teams at the National Finals on July 23 at Hotel President in Mumbai. In the event of winning the National Finals, the team will win a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a kitty of exciting prizes.

Tata Crucible-The Business Quiz 2006, is organised in two tracks— one aimed at the employees of the Tata Group and the other aimed at the corporate world other than the Tata group. Due to the overwhelming response, the Tata Group has decided to make it an annual feature.
