E-Governance Industry & Economy - IPR States - Andhra Pradesh Centre for Good Governance secures patents Our Bureau
Hyderabad , July 12 The Centre for Good Governance (CGG) has secured patents for Online Legal Caseload Management System (OLCMS) and Online Grievance Redressal Tracking System (OGRTS) during 2005-2006. The CGG has been chosen as project manager and technical support services provider for the Governance Reform Programme (Phase II) supported by the Department for International Development (DFID), UK, a role that was played by consultants KPMG and Atos Consulting during phase I of the project.
e-Governance
As a part of CGG's innovative services, it has begun to assist international programmes on e-Governance providing training as well for China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and even community score card in Sri Lanka. According to a statement from CGG, the annual general meeting of the board of CGG was held under the chairmanship of the State Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, which took stock of the performance of the Centre and also its action plan. The Chief Minister released manuals on Right to Information prepared by the CGG under the Government of India and UNDP "Capacity Building for Access to Information (CBAI) project." These manuals relate to Public authorities, information officers and appellate authorities, A Guide for civil society organisations, Guide for media and Report of information commissions-A Guide.
NETWORKING PORTAL
The Chief Minister inaugurated a networking portal on Right to Information www.r2inet.org, developed by CGG under the CBAI project. The CGG has completed about 70 studies and projects for the Andhra Pradesh Government in the areas of State Financial Accountability Assessment, Financial Management, Fiduciary Risk Assessment of Health Sector and e-Justice project (a first of a kind initiative to promote access to justice through the web, information kiosks and citizen service centres).
NEW BUILDING
The Steering Committee and the Board of CGG have approved construction of a new building at a cost of Rs 12 crore. While the Governance reform programme Phase II will contribute Rs 8 crore, CGG Corpus Fund will deploy Rs 4 crore. The Government has allotted a five-acre site at Gachibowli in Ranga Reddy district near here.
