Buying support props up edible oils

All major edible oils prices increased on the local edible oil market on Wednesday on continued buying supported by reduced supply. Groundnut oil raw was up Rs 5 at Rs 510 per 10 kg. Soya oil refined was up Rs 3 at Rs 403 per 10 kg. Soya oil crude imported was up Rs 4 at Rs 382 per 10 kg.

RBD palmolein was up Rs 3 at Rs 413 for 10 kg. Castor oil commercial grade was up a rupee at Rs 337 for 10 kg. Sunflower oil expeller was steady at Rs 420 for 10 kg. Castorseed August contracts ended higher Rs 9 at Rs 1,587 a quintal over previous close.

Sugar weakens

Sugar spot prices weakened further at the Vashi wholesale market on Wednesday on continued offerings amid stray buying.

Small grade (S-30) was down Rs 10 at Rs 1,830/1,870 a quintal, while medium grade (M-30) was down a rupee at Rs 1,880/1,950 a quintal.
