Rlys freight traffic up 10 pc in April-June

The Indian Railways has carried a total of 175.84 million tonnes of revenue-earning freight traffic during the three-month period of April-June this year, an increase of 9.91 per cent over the corresponding period last year.

The Railways had carried 159.98 mt of freight traffic during the same period last year.

Revenue-earning freight traffic on originating basis during June this year stood at 58.17 mt, which was an increase of 11.01 per cent over the freight traffic of 52.40 mt carried during the same period last year, according to an official release .
