Accel sets up animation studio

Chennai, July 13

Accel Transmatic Ltd, the Chennai-based technology services company, has set up Accel Animation Studios to offer 2D and 3D animation, visual effects and gaming services for media companies in India and abroad. The production unit will be set up with an initial investment of Rs 2.5 crore and employ 50 animators. The number of animators would be increased to 100 by 2007 and 300 by 2008 with a total investment of Rs 10 crore, according to a company press release. The BSE-listed company is also setting up an animation academy to ensure availability of trained manpower for the venture.
