Aztec Q1 net up at Rs 9.3 cr

Aztec Software has reported a 26 per cent increase in net profit and 41 per cent increase in revenues for the first quarter ended June 30, 2006 over the corresponding quarter last year. The company posted a net profit of Rs 9.27 crore on revenues of Rs 59.48 crore compared to a net of Rs 7.38 crore on revenue of Rs 42.28 crore in the first quarter last year.

However, on a sequential basis, the net profit was lower by 14 per cent while its revenue higher by eight per cent. Aztec shares were lower by 5 per cent at Rs 165 on the BSE on Thursday.

"We continue to make strategic investments in sales and marketing. We will also expand into newer technologies, business segments to drive our future business ," said Mr K.B. Chandrashekar, Chairman.
