Coimbatore would play host to the first Young Indians Southern Regional Summit to be held on July 14 and 15.

The summit has been organised with the objective of providing an opportunity to the Young Indians to discuss issues related to sustaining India's growth, to identify the socio-economic challenges that faced the country and come out with solutions to deal with them.

Speaking to presspersons, Mr Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Wholetime Director, Lakshmi Machine Works and Chairman, Young Indians Southern Regional Summit and Mr Ashwin Chandran, Director- Operations, Precot Mills Ltd and Chairman, Young Indians Coimbatore Chapter, said their organisation was part of the Confederation of Indian Industry and its focus areas included economy, education, health care, youth affairs and environment.

They said that there were visible changes in the outlook of young Indians and their aspiration levels have undergone a tremendous transformation.

The urge to perform better appears to have gripped them and the Young Indians were working to channelise the energy for an all-round development.

During the two-day meet, personalities such as Mr Suresh Krishna, Chief Managing Director, Sundaram Fasteners, Mr M.Lakshminarayanan, Joint Managing Director , MICO, Mr S.Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys, Mr T.Kannan, Managing Director, Thiagarajar Mills, Mr B.V.R.Subbu, former President, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, Mrs Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli, Mr Ashok T.Aram, Managing Director-Corporate & Investment Banking, Deutsche Bank AG, London etc, are expected to address the gathering.
