Our Bureau

New Delhi , July 14

Employers should take serious and immediate steps to introduce HIV/AIDS policies at the workplace, especially for women employees, urged participants at a workshop on HIV/AIDS here on Friday.

Organised by the US Embassy and the NGO "Women, Work and Health Initiative", with the support of US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the workshop outlined the steps needed to put in place good HIV/AIDS workplace policies. They underscored the importance of providing information related to the disease and having workplace policies and control programmes to allay the misconceptions and fears of employees.
