MosChip trims net loss in Q1

Losses cross Rs 43 crore

Hyderabad , July 15

MosChip Semiconductor Technology Ltdhas suffered net loss once again during the first quarter of current fiscal ended June 30, 2006.

On a total income of Rs 6.86 crore during the quarter on consolidated basis, the company suffered a net loss of Rs 70.59 lakh. In the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal, it incurred a net loss of Rs 1.15 crore on a turnover of Rs 6.2 crore.

According to the Chairman and CEO, Mr K. Ramachandra Reddy, MosChip Semiconductor Technology, USA, a wholly-owned unlisted subsidiary of the company, has reported total revenue of $13.14 lakh (Rs 6.07 crore) and a net profit of $2.31 lakh (Rs 1.06 crore) for the quarter under review. However, on a consolidated basis, the company suffered a net loss for the quarter.

At the end of March 2006, the company has accumulated losses of Rs 43.09 crore on an equity base of Rs 43.37 crore.
