Cool solutions in the box

India's fast-growing healthcare industry's demand for temperature-controlled air cargo containers is soaring, so much so that Envirotainer, the Sweden-based leader in temperature-controlled air transport solutions, has appointed Interavion Pvt Ltd in India to meet the burgeoning demand.

The Swedish company has been transporting pharmaceutical products to and from India for more than a year now using Interavion, which has outfits in Bangalore and Mumbai, as its local sales management arm. It is now felt that India has become an integral part of the global pharma value-chain and the demand for state-of-the-art facilities for shipments will only multiply.

The Indian pharmaceutical industry is now worth more than $8 billion, with nearly a third of the revenues coming from exports. The projection is that the industry will post 20 per cent growth annually.
