Kenexa keen on buying Indian search firm

Anjali Prayag

Bangalore , July 17

Kenexa Technologies, a US-based recruitment process outsourcing firm, is scouting the market for a mid-sized Indian search firm.

Mr Raghuveer Sakuru, Managing Director, Kenexa Technologies India, told Business Line that "the process is in the due diligence stage and we are looking at acquiring a strategic partner with a large local customer base who can help us grow faster."

Pennsylvania-headquartered Kenexa Technologies operates out of Hyderabad in India and offers solutions in the areas of talent acquisition, recruitment management and support, retention consulting and employee survey administration and analysis.

With this acquisition, the company will be in a position to give complete HRO services to its clients and not operate in the contingency recruitment space, says Mr B. Sekkizhar, Strategic Consultant, Kenexa Technologies India.

RPO market

The recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) market in India, expected to touch about $30 billion the next two years, has other global players such as Kelly Services and Elixir Technologies actively pushing for business here.

Generally, corporates that have to recruit in large numbers within a short period of time depend on RPO firms for assessing and selecting resumes. "It would help if we have a recruitment division with a presence across the country," according to Mr Sekkizhar.
