Hyderabad , July 18

Pepsi short-listed 10 semi-finalists and selected the lucky winner of the Pepsi Tragandi, Hero Avvandi contest here on Tuesday.

The soft drink major organised a lunch meet here, where the 10 semi-finalists and the winner met film star Suriya. The star was here to inaugurate the second restaurant of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) at Himayat Nagar.

The winner, Suresh, would act with Suriya in the upcoming movie Rangam Siddhamayindhi, to be produced and directed by Gautham Menon, according to a Pepsi release.

In the contest launched in March this year, exclusively in Andhra Pradesh, consumers had to collect five Pepsi Suriya crowns and SMS Suriya at 8243 to get the audition details for their city. The Pepsi Dream vans visited these cities on designated days and conducted on-the-spot screen tests.

The contest saw nearly 30,000 consumers participating in the promotion. Of the 2,500 consumers who were auditioned for the role in the movie, 10 semi-finalists were short-listed and judged by a panel of dignitaries from the theatre, film and advertising fields. Mr Menon, the director and producer of the movie, selected the lucky winner from a final round of auditions on Monday.
