Manipal AcuNova gets ISO 9001 tag

Bangalore , July 18

Manipal AcuNova Ltd said it has received ISO 9001:2000 certification, the first to be given to an Indian contract research organisation.

The quality tag covers clinical operations, clinical data management, bioavailability / bio equivalence, central reference lab and support services, it said in a release here.

Dr Ramdas Pai, Chairman, Manipal Group, received the certification from Mr Venkitachalam, MD, Underwriter Laboratories India Pvt Ltd, which conducted the quality audit.

`Long-term commitment'

Mr D.A. Prasanna, Vice-Chairman and MD of Manipal AcuNova, said, "The ISO 9001:2000 certification clearly establishes our long-term commitment to meeting and exceeding the needs and expectations of customers in a rapidly globalising marketplace."

Manipal AcuNova is a collaboration between the Manipal Education & Medical Group and Acunova. It has access to Manipal group's 19 research sites and has facilities in Bangalore, Mangalore, Manipal and a wholly owned subsidiary in the US and UK.
