New Delhi , July 18

US security services major Pinkerton Consulting and Investigations on Tuesdayannounced its entry into the country through an alliance with domestic law firm Kochhar Group. The venture will offer a slew of investigation services to Indian companies, including background checks, intellectual property and brand protection, due diligence, compliance assessments, executive protection, security consulting and investigations.

The joint venture company - Pinkerton Consulting and Investigations India - would entail a 51:49 equity partnership by Pinkerton and Kochhar Group. The venture is eyeing global multinationals, which are already using Pinkerton's services in other countries. The company also hopes to assist Indian firms by certifying that their business practices meet the social compliance requirements of US businesses.

New Jersey-based Pinkerton, a wholly owned subsidiary of Securitas, also has presence in China, Brazil, Mexico, England, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Taiwan. A global market leader in security and allied services, Securitas has revenues exceeding $ 7.5 billion.

Speaking on the occasion, Pinkerton's President, Mr Jack D Donohue, said, "I am proud to announce the opening of Pinkerton India and am highly confident about its success."
