HAL bags $30-m Israeli order

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) said it has won a $30-million (Rs 135-crore) order from Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd (IAI) for the supply of major aero structures. The work package finalised recently is spread over eight years and includes tooling, design and manufacture. HAL will establish a dedicated manufacturing and assembly line to execute the order. "The co-operation will play a major role in further development of bilateral business relations between IAI and HAL," a release said. IAI is already the international marketing partner for the Dhruv light helicopters and its avionics are used in the aircraft.
