Cotton institute plans workshop

Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (CIRCOT) has proposed to conduct a programme on demonstration of clean cotton picking, storage and transportation at Therkathikadu village, near Mettur in Salem District on July 22.

The programme is being co-ordinated by Dr S. Venkatakrishnan, Officer-in-charge, CIRCOT, Coimbatore, and Super Spinning Mills.

The demonstration is to be inaugurated by Dr K.M. Parlikar, Principal Scientist and Head, Technology Transfer Division, CIRCOT.

According to a release, CIRCOT would supply cotton caps, aprons, picking bags and tarpaulin to 100 labourers to enable clean cotton pick.
