Riddhi Siddhi Q1 net rises 210 pc

Riddhi Siddhi Gluco Biols Ltd, the country's largest producer of variety of starch and derivatives, has recorded an impressive performance in the first quarter ended June 2006, with the net profit for the quarter rising 210 per cent.

The net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 4.78 crore as against Rs 1.54 crore for the same quarter in the previous year, the company said in a release here today. Sales turnover for the quarter rose 23 per cent to Rs 71.14 crore (Rs 57.82 crore). The earnings per share (EPS) for the period was Rs 4.54 (Rs 2.39). Commenting on the results, Mr Ganpatraj Chowdhary, Managing Director of the company, said its association with Roquette has helped Riddhi Siddhi to consolidate its leadership in the starch industry in the country.
