Indian pilots, ICPA reach settlement

The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) has reached an agreement with Indian to perform a fourth landing within the Flight and Duty Time Limitation for both domestic and international flights.

The new arrangement will enable Indian to plan long haul international flights, said a press release from Indian. ICPA is the trade union of pilots working for Indian.

"Keeping in view the likely growth in capacity in the coming years, Indian will now also be in a position to offer contract employment to its pilots who attain the age of superannuating," the release said.

Mr Vishwapati Trivedi, Managing Director, Indian, said that the settlement will mutually benefit the employees as well as the company as the increased emoluments for the pilots will also translate into higher productivity and concrete financial gains.
