Airlines Marketing - Promotions & Offers Airlines come up with freebies to woo students Deepak Goel
New Delhi , July 20 In a bid to woo Indian students as the season for their exodus to foreign universities comes closer, airlines and others are offering a plethora of freebies and discounts. Jet Airways has revised free baggage allowance to 46 kg for journeys up to London as against its usual allowance of 40 kg. British Airways has added the US, Canada and Europe apart from the UK to the list of destination for its special offer, where student passengers can get 23 kg extra free baggage allowance for return or one-way ticket apart from special airfares. Flying Virgin Atlantic can get a student five per cent discount on airfare for an accompanying family member or friend apart from extra baggage allowance of 23 kg. Travel company Thomas Cook is trying to lure the students with its `University 2 Home City' offer. Students opting for any two of its three services air tickets, foreign exchange worth $1500 or more and student insurance plan will get a free Lonely Planet Guide of the destination city. Four individuals among these students will also be eligible for a lucky draw that will give them a free round trip ticket to visit home.
