Infy to ring Nasdaq opening bell from here

Our Bureau

Bangalore , July 20

For the first time, the NASDAQ stock market will be opened for trading from India.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, Infosys Technologies plans to recreate Opening Bell, a ceremonial event representing the beginning of the trading day at NASDAQ on July 31 at its Mysore campus. With this, Infosys becomes the first Indian company to ring the Opening Bell from a remote location.

Infosys and NASDAQ are set to duplicate the market-site experience this month-end. With the use of a highly secure, IP-network, the NASDAQ will be remotely opened, bringing together millions of investors and market participants to celebrate the opening of the trading day.

A replica of the NASDAQ electronic sign-in screen will also be set up, following the tradition of CEOs and dignitaries signing the NASDAQ podium. The company's senior management team along with Mr Bob Greifeld, President and CEO, The NASDAQ Stock Market, will be present on the occasion.

The Opening Bell ceremony will be broadcast live at the NASDAQ MarketSite and on its seven-storey tower from NASDAQ's premier broadcast studio in Times Square, New York.
