RISING VALUE: A vendor selling garlic in Thrissur, Kerala. Garlic exports have increased to 7,500 tonnes during April-May this year from 3,829 tonnes during the same period a year ago. Poor crop in other garlic producing countries has resulted in export demand. The unit value has also increased to Rs 12.60 a kg from Rs 12.05 a kg.
