Shasun net profit up 45 pc

Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Ltd has reported a 45 per cent growth in net profit to Rs 6.17 crore on net sales of Rs 99.46 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2006. During the corresponding period in the previous year, the company reported a net profit of Rs 4.26 crore on net sales of Rs 77.26 crore. Addressing a press conference here on Friday , Mr S. Vimal Kumar, Joint Managing Director, Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Ltd, said that the company has charted out a Rs 110 crore capital expenditure plan, which includes over Rs 45-50 crore investment in a multi-product facility at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The company is also setting up a development lab for finished dosages in Pondicherry.
