Outlook States - Gujarat eInfochips plans campuses in Ahmedabad, Pune Virendra Pandit
Ahmedabad , July 21 Electronic design services major eInfochips, based in Ahmedabad and Santa Clara, California (the US), is planning to set up two bigger corporate campuses simultaneously in Ahmedabad and Pune with an investment of $10 million over the next four years. In Ahmedabad, its new campus would be on a sprawling plot of land, probably in the proposed special economic zone on information technology coming up near here. To have two campuses in India and one in the US is to keep pace with the increasing headcount, eInfochips chief has said. The campuses would be financed through the internal accrual of the company that offers spec-to-silicon-to-system services. Confirming the development, its President and CEO, Mr Pratul Shroff, told Business Line that the $18-million company is scouting for 8-10 acres of land near Ahmedabad and might zero in on the SEZ in the next few weeks. The company, already in an expansion mode, had recently launched its third design centre in Ahmedabad and second design centre in Pune.
Targeting Japan
He said eInfochip's aggressive growth plans are fuelled by the growing Indian design services market and the company's own focus on new target geographies. It is also targeting Japan, which offers great opportunities in both the chip and product design. Currently, the company is actively recruiting engineering talents to increase its strength from the existing 500 to 800 at its Ahmedabad and Pune facilities.
