  • Pulses, oils and hank yarn exempted from sales tax

  • Scheduled goods imported for use in manufacturing within Tamil Nadu can avail of entry tax set-off

  • No CST for waste paper purchased from outside State if sales tax paid

  • Fly ash for brick manufacturers exempted from sales tax

  • General Sales Tax on tea sold in auction centres of Tea Serve cut to 1 per cent from 4 per cent and CST to 1 per cent from 2 per cent

  • Farmers and tiny industry investors exempt from stamp duty for mortgaged and pledged documents

  • Samadhan scheme to be introduced for traders

  • Crop loans from co-operative banks at 7 per cent

  • Government will compensate co-operative banks for drop in interest rates

  • Following a Rs 6,866-crore co-operative loan waiver for farmers, Government has taken over debt liability of Rs 1,668 crore owed by co-operative banks to the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development and provided Rs 435 crore for 2006-07

  • Rs 1,000 crore earmarked to compensate co-operative banks for the loan waiver

  • Provision will be made for balance Rs 5,431 crore

  • Food subsidy bill at Rs 1,950 crore

  • Free power to continue for 2.4 lakh agricultural connections

  • Free power supply for handloom weavers with own worksheds

  • Free power supply to powerloom weavers with own looms
