RPDS aid: Rubber Board invites applications

The Rubber Board has invited applications from rubber growers for assistance under the Rubber Plantation Development Scheme (RPDS). Assistance will be given both for replanting and new planting.

Applications in the prescribed form in duplicate together with two copies of the correct survey plan of the land already planted/proposed to be planted in the year 2006 should reach the respective regional office of the Board on or before October 31, 2006. Application forms and other details are available from all regional offices and field offices of the Board.

In the traditional area, comprising Kerala and Tamil Nadu, growers whose total rubber area does not exceed 5 ha including new planting\replanting during the current year are eligible for grant for planting up to 2 hectares. The rate of assistance is Rs 20,000 for replanting and Rs 12,000 for new planting. In the non-traditional area, the growers whose rubber area does not exceed 20 ha are eligible for assistance under the scheme.
