Mumbai , July 25

British Airways has unveiled its promotional offer for students travelling to the UK and beyond.

Under this offer, return tickets are priced at Rs 20,000 and one-way tickets at Rs 11,000. Students can also carry an excess baggage of 23 kg at no extra cost. This offer is valid between July 1 and September 30, 2006.

For those who are not able to get confirmed seats from Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai, British Airways is now providing connecting flights to Delhi and Mumbai on Air Sahara for free.

An added bonus is that family members can fly at a 10 per cent discount until June 2007.

"We are telling students that they can travel now in comfort and families can visit later," said Mr Sriram Narayan, Manager - Central India.

Online facility soon

In the future, British Airways is looking at introducing an online payment facility for Indians. "We want passengers to be able to check in online, handle their meal requests and be able to print their boarding cards at home. We want to give the customer total control," said Mr Narayan.

British Airways is also looking at relaunching their Club World cabins with the flat beds sometime in August this year.

"Eighteen months down the line, first class will also have to be revamped coz the difference between the two (Club World and first class) will have to be maintained," said Mr Narayan.
