Dr Vinoth Thomas, scientist, Rubber Research Institute of India, has won the Grand Prize in the global photographic competition organised by the International Rubber Research and Development Board (IRDB), which is the voluntary association of national research institutions from 16 countries connected with natural rubber. The competition was organised in connection with the publication of a reference book entitled Portrait of Global Rubber Industry. The prize comprising cash award for $1,500 and a citation will be presented to him at the launching of the book in November 2006 at Ho Chin Minh City, Vietnam.
