Pidilite Ind Q1 net rises 24 pc

Pidilite Industries has reported a 24.31-per-cent growth in its first quarter net profit at Rs 37.94 crore against Rs 30.52 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net sales grew from Rs 232.66 crore to Rs 292.03 crore, an increase of 25.51 per cent. Total Income (net of excise) increased to Rs 294.23 crore (Rs 237.09 crore) for the quarter ended June 30. Other income decreased by nearly half from Rs 4.43 crore to Rs 2.2 crore. Expenditure increased to Rs 231.73 crore compared to Rs 185.18 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. This expenditure includes a VRS expenditure of Rs .06 crore and donations to the tune of Rs 3.81 crore. Shares of Pidilite rose by 3.72 per cent to close at Rs 90.70 on BSE.
