TUFS project cost limit to be raised

Our Bureau

Bangalore , July 26

The Textile Commissioner, Mr J. N. Singh, has announced that the project cost limit under the credit linked capital subsidy of the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) will be raised to Rs 2 crore from Rs 1 crore.

Mr Singh also urged powerloom weavers "to take advantage of the TUFS before March 2007 for modernisation of the looms". He was speaking at the inauguration of the 11th buyer-seller meet organised by the Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) here on Thursday. The two-day meet will provide a platform for textile manufacturers "to showcase their products and for buyers to source their requirements under one roof."
