Flightraja launches on-line booking service for airlines

, Bangalore-based travel solutions' company Flightraja on Friday launched a SMS, kiosk, agent and online-based instant search and booking service for airlines.

The agent-based model will tap into the retired and homemaker community and will provide them "an earn from home" option and the initial roll out would be done with 110 online ticketing agents for flightraja in Bangalore and 70 in Chennai.

With as little as Rs 25,000 deposit, a housewife or a retired person can become a neighbourhood travel agent and will get to keep four per cent of all tickets sold.

The company's kiosks will be kept at several malls and public places where customers can book tickets through them.

Mr Vinay, CEO, Flightraja said "Today's traveller is looking at a `here and now' option for information and booking of travel tickets in the easiest possible method. For this to be possible flightraja will be available in all forms (kiosks, agents and SMS) to make instant ticketing a reality." Flightraja Chief Executive Officer, Mr Vinay, said.

"We believe this would allow travellers the flexibility of scheduling and rescheduling their travel plans at any point of time all the while ensuring they get the widest choice of airlines and the cheapest airfares to choose from," Flightraja Chief Operating Officer, Mr Niranjan Gupta, said.
