AP panel to fix tariff for renewable power

The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to constitute a committee to fix power purchase tariff for renewable energy based power projects. It would constitute officials from Finance Ministry, A.P. Transmission Corporation and The Non-Conventional Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NEDCAP).

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, also directed the NEDCAP to take up focused programmes on popularising energy saving devices in a big way.

Reviewing the progress of NEDCAP and Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Ltd (APGenco), the Chief Minister said the latter had generated 9137 MU of energy during this financial year so far.
