Rubber meet for increased export

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , July 28

A meeting of rubber exporters has decided to enhance the quantity of rubber export following the declining trend in prices in the domestic market.

About 30 exporters participated in the meeting convened by Mr Sajen Peter, Chairman, Rubber Board. Since the international price ruled above the domestic market by Rs 20 a kg, the present situation is more favourable for export, said Mr Peter.

If quality and packing could be improved, Indian rubber would get better price, the meeting assessed. The Rubber Board intends to provide common facilities for all exporters at Kochi. During the last few months, the required quantity of rubber could not be exported.
