Panel on financial markets meets

A meeting of the High Level Co-ordination Committee on Financial Markets was held on Friday by the Reserve Bank of India.

According to a press release from the central bank, Dr Y.V. Reddy, Governor of RBI, chaired the meeting — which was attended by Mr A.K. Jha, Secretary of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Mr M. Damodaran, Chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India, Mr C.S. Rao, Chairman of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority, Mr D. Swarup, Chairman of Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, and other senior officials of the MoF, RBI and SEBI.

The committee is a high-level forum for interface among the financial sector regulators.
